Miracle Noodle update

The Miracle Noodles. They are good.

They are more like rice noodles than wheat noodles, to be sure, and thus jive better with Asian food than Italian. But they are perfectly serviceable in Italian-kinda-food, and quite enjoyable in Asian.

I made some of my soon-to-be-famous Ghetto Pad Thai with them and snarfed it. I did not find them to be feeshy. I did not find them to be springy. I found them to be IN MAH BELLEH.

Ghetto Pad Thai:
- Some cilantro
- Some chives
- Some peanuts mashed up with the back of a spoon (about 1/4 cup)
- 4-5 eggs
- 1 pack of Miracle Noodles
- a little Thai chili sauce, cos my roommate had some

Fry it all up in a skillet until the eggs are cooked. Eat half of it. Have the other half for lunch. That will stuff your gut for about 225 calories (!) a serving. It’s good to have something else on the side or otherwise you will prolly just be hungry again in 3 hours, and that defeats the noodle purpose.

The noodles. I approve.

Also, if you say ‘noodle’ a lot, it loses its meaning. Noodle noodle noodle.

NOODLE.

  3. Jonathan! I’m afraid I stole the photo from here: http://www.yarnydays.com/2009/02/magic.html. Perhaps they will share it with you?

Please keep up the good noodle work. It’s so nice to have noodles back in my life. I can’t believe everyone hasn’t heard of them!

    A thousand thanks — Tory

  4. Okay Tory, here’s what I need to know.

Have you tried the tofu version for comparison?

What kind did you get of the Miracle Noodles?

Can you eat them plain? As in, can I stomach eating just them for a few days in order to fit into a bathing suit?

Also, thanks for being awesome and finding these.

  5. I haven’t tried the tofu version. I ordered directly from Konjac Foods. I got angel hair.
I hella don’t condone crash diets — your body will know you are messing with it and conspire to rebel. But these noodles are awesome for making a small meal more filling — some veggies and some spaghetti sauce or scrambled eggs and you are set as a jet.
I have eaten some heaping helpings of these noodles, and I’m happy to report that, unlike most other unfood foods (sugar-free cookies, I’m looking at you) these have no… um… undesired digestive consequences.
I am happy to share all my shenanigans. ESPECIALLY THE AWESOME ONES.
