Wordle’s Cloudmaker
Posted by Tory, July 31, 2008 on 8:56 am | In Amusements | No CommentsDid you have some time on your hands today? Cos not anymore:

Wordle is a toy for generating ‘word clouds’ from any text, url or rss stream you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the text and you can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes.
As seen on NextNature, here is Wordle.
Imax Fee(s)

Expensive ticket? No problem — it’s Imax. One obscure processing/convenience fee? Sure — it’s online. TWO obscure processing/convenience fees, of differing amounts, and neither explanation descriptive? That’s getting silly.
Double ironic points — Wachovia is my bank. You’d think they could work something out.
Regarding the Atlas Shrugged movie
Posted by Tory, July 30, 2008 on 8:17 am | In Amusements | 2 CommentsAll grammar quirks are intended. Hokes bend grammar like Uri Geller bends spoons.
During dad’s five-minute break recently, dad looked at Atlas Shrugged on Wikepedia, and all the characters were listed in the article. And there were many. And dad only bemembered about five before seeing the list. Many of the evil characters or non-effectual characters had names suited for derision. Like Balph.
Corazon, dad.
Verily the good guys were all called things like Archer Bowflex, and the bad guys were all like Snordley Wimplerd.
Ha HAAA. Ayn Rand is the Charles Dickens of capitalism.

Random Thoughts, Biscuit Edition
Posted by Tory, July 29, 2008 on 11:45 am | In Amusements | No CommentsYeah.
- Ever fall asleep with the fan on and then have your mouth taste like burned biscuits all morning? No? No reason…
- Speaking of tongues — I think five is my limit of Ice Breaker Sours before they start to hurt. Ow. Ow ow ow ow ow.
- What does it mean, that out of all the ridiculousness in Wanted, my biggest problem was that the lead character Googles his name and gets no results? NONE. COME ON. There’s a whole GoogleSport dedicated to finding search terms with very few hit results. I think they would be duly impressed with a dude’s name that got ZERO. Much freakin’ funnier would have been 1) a bunch of genealogy links, or 2) an obscure geek who was still wildly more famous than he. When are they going to start giving me ALL scripts to rewrite?

Rules of Thumb – Staying on Budget
- Never buy what you can borrow.
- Never pay retail. Ever. Ever. Ever.

Posted by Tory, July 29, 2008 on 9:55 am | In Amusements | No CommentsMy Mom got a new dog! Here is a Facebook album of her, and also (on another day) my dad making meat sauce.

Secretly I am not that into dogs. I am into Jake, and then any other dog as he or she reminds me of Jake, interacts with Jake, amuses Jake or demonstrates the awesomeness of Jake.
My love of Jake might make you wonder why I put sweatshirts on him. I cannot asplain it.
