Okay, I let the smores slide….but an ice cream sandwich is stretching the cookie category too far (and they would make very poor earrings). Perhaps I am too rigid.

Ice cream sandwiches are not cookies.

Baked good elitist! How much joy does a cookie have to bring you before you call it a cookie? Wot about ice cream sandwiches with chocolate chip cookie bookends? Ha?
A chewy cookie is a cookie, too. A CHEWY COOKIE IS A COOKIE, TOO!

The Ice cream cookie sandwich is no longer a cookie! It is more than a cookie. You can say that it still _has_ cookies, but it is no longer the same thing as a cookie.
Tangent: If you were given the soggy ends off of a regular ice cream sandwich and told it was your cookie for the day, would you be satisfied with this cookie?
