Party pictures be posted! I was thisclose to putting a cute caption under each of them, but that would be far more punishment than pleasure for y`all, and anyway I`m way too ADHD.

Can’t… stop… throwing parties…

Random Thoughts – Shallow Edition

  • My house is throwing a Halloween party on the 29th. You should come.
  • They have Peach Fresca now. It is refreshing, excellent and obscure, like No-Ad sunblock for your soft palate.
  • What follows is a selection of good songs to go running to, in the tradition of Christina Milian’s “Dip it Low.” Please do not mock the extreme cheese- or whitebread-ness of certain choices. One was so good that I ran into traffic and almost got hit by a car. No lie.
    • Behind These Hazel Eyes, Low – Kelly Clarkson
    • Fighter – Christina Aguilera
    • I`m Outta Love – Anastacia (OMG that MTV Star-Search-type series with Left Eye!)
    • Let Me Entertain You – Robbie Williams
    • Sing – Travis
    • This is How a Heart Breaks – Rob Thomas
    • Knock Me Down – Red Hot Chili Peppers (Vicki Calhoun teh best namesake evar!!1one!)
    • Laura – Scissor Sisters
    • Falling Stars – Sunset Strippers
    • Stars – Simply Red (Yeah, that’s a flashback to sophomore track season. So what? I liked the Lightning Seeds` “Life of Riley” too. You can’t shame me.)
    • Bug A Boo – Destiny’s Child
    • Crush – Jennifer Paige (She never really recovered from Country Bears)
    • Siren – Tori Amos
    • Rumors, Speak – Lindsay Lohan (You are not prepared for how much I like the Lindsay Lohan album. I`m gonna put up some downloads so you can get your guilty pleasure on, too)
    • Somewhere Only We Know, Everybody’s Changing – Keane
    • Stolen Car – Beth Orton (Seriously, you can do ANYTHING to this song. It’s like the theme from Edward Scissorhands, minus hot, hot girlish tears.)
    • Angry Angel – Imogen Heap
    • I’ve Been Thinking About You – London Beat (You can’t shame me!)
    • Be Kind to My Mistakes – Kate Bush
    • Why Do You Love Me – Garbage (REALLY good for running, although tough on the ego. Discipline is the key to pleasure… discipline is the key to pleasure…)
    • Run to You – Bryan Adams (Obvious. But genius.)
    • Texarkana – REM
    • All the Way – Craig David
    • Barbie Girl – Aqua
    • Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo – Bloodhound Gang (OK, maybe I can be shamed.)
    • Portions for Foxes – Rilo Kiley
    • Do You Want To – Franz Ferdinand (This is what would have happened if The Beatles had stayed together through disco)
    • Fa Fa – Guster
    • God Is A DJ – Pink (Umm, yeah. Initial twinges of shame.)
    • I Believe in a Thing Called Love – The Darkness
    • Only Me, Only You – Placebo (Just because I put this song on every. Mix. Evar.)
    • Stray Paper – Tift Merritt
    • They – Jem (When you want a little haunting with your phys-ed.)
    • Whatever U Want – Christina Milian (She is underrated. They put Tweet where my Christina Milian should be.)

I don’t care that these songs don’t have culture. I tried running to Jimmy Cliff.

  • My housemate’s German Shepherd is here and her name is Kiwi and she is cute as hell and when you scratch her bottom (which I apparently can pronounce only as “bowdem”) her tail goes off to the side you are scratching and her hind legs go weak. Sort of like me when I have a Peach Fresca. OMG reflexive randomness!
  • You know what’s good? Serenity. You know what else is good? That one of my housemates has taken up watching my Firefly DVDs, and they remain the best thing ever, although now some parts make me somewhat sneefy. Sneaf. Little dusty in here.
  • You know what else is good? Wheatus. Between them and Nada Surf I have two new albums to give me a ride in the wayback machine.
  • One more good thing — staying out of other people’s business. I`m trying this out for a change and it’s quite refreshing. Who knew people were equipped to solve their own problems? Not me.
  • This post doesn’t have any pictures. Like you wouldn’t like a little sultry Nathan Fillion to start your day. This is what happens in production design — you learn the laws of design, construction and aesthetics, and then abandon them utterly in your daily life. If you saw my hair and nails right now… let’s just say I think I`m starting to look like the guy I had a crush on in high school. Weird. Eerie. I will now wear layered T-shirts and stop sucking at soccer.
